Thanks to you, we received a wonderful assortment of resources—food items, stickers, a whiteboard, tissues, The Game of Real Life, a Conversation Game, and a wobble stool—that have already made a meaningful impact on our students.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was palpable. Students were immediately drawn to the wobble stool, wanting to immediately test it out. It's now a favorite for our sessions to keep those that need a little movement to stay focused. The stickers have become a fun and motivating reward system, and the tissues—believe it or not—were met with cheers because they're a small but essential comfort in our space, and way more sensitive than school-issued tissues!\r\n\r\nOne particularly memorable moment thus far was during a social-emotional learning activity using the Conversation Game. Students opened up in ways I hadn't seen before, sharing thoughts and feelings with honesty and empathy. It sparked a beautiful discussion about kindness and understanding, and it's now a regular part of our groups.","fullyFundedDate":1758369871691,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-and-care-helping-students-feel/9615162/","projectTitle":"Comfort and Care: Helping Students Feel Ready to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maloney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9683376_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x315,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755517967477","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9683376"},{"teacherId":9465294,"projectId":8719365,"letterContent":"Thank you for the items from my gift packages. My feeling flag has helped in sessions several times as students just tend to generalize feelings to common words. By looking at the flag we can pinpoint more emotions impacting the situations and address some deeper feelings influencing them.\r\nThe dice have been great conversation starters and get things going for group discussion. This creates connections quickly.\r\nWe have appreciated these specifically along with the sensory trips students put on the back of their phones.\r\nMy apologies for the delay in this letter, I had thought this step was already completed.","fullyFundedDate":1726502674257,"projectUrl":"project/social-work-support-for-developing-self-/8719365/","projectTitle":"Social Work Support for Developing Self-advocacy and Coping Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cartier","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9465294"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43510","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1010,"numTeachers":106,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":71,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"9.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.3,"schoolId":43510,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edwin O Smith High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Edwin O Smith High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/connecticut/regional-school-district-19/edwin-o-smith-high-school/43510"}
