I was devastated to find that it was covered in mold over the summer and had to be thrown out. I have many students that have goals surrounding time at the carpet. At the beginning of the school year, I put old yoga mats down with some seat chairs to make the space somewhat inviting.\r\n\r\nOnce I got the carpet, it changed the environmental mood completely. The floor space became warm and inviting. Children WANT to come to the carpet for group time to work on some of those goals that are non-preferred for many! Students even want to work on the carpet for independent tasks, which I allow with flexible seating in my classroom.\r\n\r\nI am so excited to have a warm space to gather with my students and focus on their group time goals as well as social emotional learning. We continue to build on these goals and use it for station rotation as well. We often have station rotation on Fun Friday. Having such a beautiful carpet space allows me even more options for activities like this.","fullyFundedDate":1756658119144,"projectUrl":"project/carpet-craze/9599149/","projectTitle":"Carpet Craze","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sherman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9459861_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751852356112","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/rsherman"},{"teacherId":9458827,"projectId":8970560,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom project! They've been working so well together, building, experimenting, and sharing ideas. These materials encourage problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork, all while making learning truly fun and engaging.\r\n\r\nEvery day, I see smiles, curiosity, and collaboration as they use these tools to build structures, create patterns, and experiment with balance and design. Your kindness has helped create a classroom filled with wonder and discovery.\r\n\r\nThank you for making such a positive impact on my students' learning experience and for giving them opportunities to explore and grow through play.","fullyFundedDate":1741370939305,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-doing/8970560/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Doing","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bienkowski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9458827_orig.jpg?crop=421,421,x132,y54&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734616725750","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9458827"},{"teacherId":9459198,"projectId":8976890,"letterContent":"I did get to start using the science kits for one of my units, but I had to have surgery and was out for the rest of the year.
