I am very thankful for the post it writing pads with lines. This enables me to model handwriting that has correct spacing and letters sitting on the line. It is hard for kindergartners to grasp this with paper that has not lines. My students have also done better with their own individual paper with the red, blue and dotted lines. It gives them a place and guide on how to write their letters.\r\n\r\nStudents use the small magic boards to practice writing cvc words. It gives them another item to use, instead of using whiteboard and markers all of the time. Students like to use different items eventhough it is the same concept. They get excited with new things.\r\n\r\nMy students were very excited when they saw the items. They kept asking what are the items for. I had to explain how the pencil grips will help students with holding the pencils. The tweezer game will help strengthen their fingers for their fine motor skills. Once I allowed my students to use the items, they were all smiles.\r\n\r\nMy next steps for the project is to continue modeling how to write sentences and help my students become more confident with using their sounds to write words. I also would like them to be able to write words on the index card and have a buddy help them spell the work correctly.","fullyFundedDate":1761401662354,"projectUrl":"project/growing-kindergarten-writers/9849633/","projectTitle":"Growing Kindergarten Writers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Henry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3392373"},{"teacherId":9190485,"projectId":9850099,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our classroom. Your support had a meaningful impact on student learning in reading. In reading, we focus heavily on foundational skills such as phonics, spelling, and grammar, and the phonics resources have been a wonderful supplement for students who needed extra practice. Our lower-performing students have been using the phonics books to review previously taught skills, and they have been showing great growth and increased confidence as readers. After completing our benchmark testing, 75% of the class showed improvement in their reading scores from September to January.\r\n\r\nThe classroom materials have also helped build excitement and engagement around learning. The students absolutely love the \"Dog Man\" series because it allows them to practice reading fluently while enjoying an entertaining story... they even ask to borrow the books to take home. When students finish their assignments, they enjoy working on the 50 States puzzle, which supports our ongoing work with memorizing the locations of all the states. Having a hands-on, physical map has made a big difference in helping students visualize and retain this information. Thank you again for investing in our classroom and helping create a positive, engaging learning environment for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1761100619698,"projectUrl":"project/building-knowledge-building-readers/9850099/","projectTitle":"Building Knowledge, Building Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dear","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9190485_orig.png?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692494478616","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msdear4thgrade"},{"teacherId":10310514,"projectId":9823582,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our elementary physical education program. Because of you, my students now have access to equipment and resources that make PE more engaging, inclusive, and fun for every child.\r\n\r\nYour donation helps my students build important skills like teamwork, coordination, confidence, and healthy habits — all while moving, playing, and smiling. Many of our students do not have access to sports equipment outside of school, so your kindness ensures that every child can fully participate and feel successful in PE class.\r\n\r\nThe excitement was immediate when the students learned about the new equipment. They are more motivated, more active, and eager to challenge themselves in positive ways. Most importantly, they are learning that staying active can be fun and something they enjoy.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students' health and well-being. A specific example is when the class was engaging in a soccer lesson and I was able to use the net and weighted soccer balls to create an area for my fragile students to play. This both kept the students safer being in their own area and allowed them to complete the same tasks as their typical peers without having to worry about the soccer balls rolling away from them or moving too fast. This made my students very happy to complete the tasks just like everyone else.\r\n\r\nIn the future I will continue to use the equipment that I received to create inclusive and adapted activities for my students to participate in. Having more adaptive equipment allows me to become more creative with my environment and what tasks I am able to create for them to complete.
