Because of your generosity, my office now has essential hygiene products that students can rely on when they need them, no questions asked, no stigma attached.\r\nWe are using these new resources in a very real and practical way. Students are able to grab items like deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other necessities before class or during the day. One moment that truly stood out was when a student quietly shared how relieved they felt knowing they had what they needed to feel confident during the school day. That confidence shows up immediately in their focus, participation, and willingness to engage with others.\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were a mix of surprise and gratitude. Many were excited, but more than that, they felt seen and cared for. It sent a powerful message: hygiene shouldn't be a privilege, and their well-being matters here.\r\nBecause these basic needs are being met, our next steps in the classroom can stay focused on learning. Students are able to focus on their schoolwork without the distraction or anxiety that can come from unmet personal needs. Your support has created a safer, more inclusive environment where students can show up as their best selves.\r\nBy contributing to this project, you gave our students more than supplies, you gave them dignity, confidence, and the freedom to focus on learning. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to make such a meaningful difference in their daily lives.","fullyFundedDate":1761950630919,"projectUrl":"project/hygiene-shouldnt-be-a-privilege/9853165/","projectTitle":"Hygiene Shouldn't Be a Privilege","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sheets","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10327134"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55736","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":90,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":59,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"6.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":90.0,"schoolId":55736,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kent County Secondary Intensive Learning Center on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Kent County Secondary Intensive Learning Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/delaware/capital-school-district/kent-co-alternative-school/55736"}
