These resources have brought our literacy lessons to life and have been a huge hit with our students.\r\n\r\nOur students especially loved retelling the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie stories and recreating the recipes we read about, which helped deepen their understanding through hands-on, sensory-based experiences. The alphabet drill toys are currently being used as we retell The Three Little Pigs, allowing students to connect letters, sounds, and story elements in a meaningful way. Additionally, the sound phones have become a valuable tool during our phonics lessons, helping students hear and practice sounds more clearly and confidently.\r\n\r\nYour support is making literacy engaging, accessible, and joyful for every learner in our classroom. As a result, students become more confident, engaged, and motivated learners.\r\n\r\nBeyond academic growth, the impact is seen in the classroom culture itself. These materials help nurture curiosity, creativity, and self-expression, honoring each child's unique strengths and personality. Students are using the new resources during individual and small-group speech and language lessons. One of our favorite moments so far was during our \"Old Lady StoryTime.\" Using the plush Old Lady doll and several There Was an Old Lady... books, students developed vocabulary, created sentences, answered WH questions, and sequenced events using the laminated cards we created with our new laminator and cardstock. Their laughter—and their determination to use language (and feed the Old Lady)—showed just how powerful these materials are. \r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the Pete the Cat books, plush doll, and the Missing Cupcake Game, they exploded with excitement. The Missing Cupcake Game supports cooperative play while targeting color matching, memory, and expressive language skills through actions like describing or naming animals and foods. The magnetic Kasfalci phonics games have also become a huge hit—students worked hard to practice CVCC and other syllable shape combinations on the board. These materials gave them an inviting, playful way to approach speech, language, and communication—especially for students who typically hesitate during literacy tasks.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our next steps involve the continuation of expanding students' receptive and expressive language through building descriptive language, focusing on vocabulary and print awareness, and encouraging meaningful interaction within play-based routines. Each child, with their unique developmental needs and ways of learning, benefits immensely from hands-on, engaging activities that invite exploration and creativity. When my Pre-K students use art kits, markers, watercolors, oil pastels, and diverse papers, they are not only developing fine motor skills but also expressing their individuality and emotions in a way that words sometimes can't capture.\r\n\r\nMy students especially love drawing pictures of their friends and families, which strengthens their social connections and sense of belonging. By providing materials that reflect a broad spectrum of skin tones, beautiful browns, peaches, and every shade in between, they see themselves truly represented in their artwork. This helps build their self-esteem and fosters a deeper appreciation for diversity, both in themselves and others. They delight in finding the colors that best match their own skin tones, helping them to understand and celebrate their unique identities.\r\n\r\nReplenishing our art supplies means continuing to empower these young learners to explore, create, and grow with confidence.
