When the items started to arrive at the school...large rug and infant toys, they were so excited. They asked what is this for? What are we going to do? I told them come to school on Wednesday and you will see. Their curiosity got the best of them and our attendance was almost 100%!!! \r\n\r\nWe had the girls get their babies and come sit on the rug. The babies loved having their mommies with them and played with all the toys. We did a book and a song which modeled to the girls the importance of reading to their babies. By having all the babies together, students with younger babies were able to see how the older babies were listening to the book and interacting with the song. We are always talking to the students about the importance of reading to their babies. \r\n\r\nThe girls also spent time talking together about parenting issues, and the challenges of not only being, a mom but a teen mom. We have done the two times and will continue to do once a month. When we posted the date for the second group, again we had almost 100% attendance.\r\n\r\nThe girls really appreciate your help in providing us the supplies we needed to start this mommy and me group.","fullyFundedDate":1760020561560,"projectUrl":"project/teen-parent-mommy-and-me/9794106/","projectTitle":"Teen Parent Mommy and Me","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Groce","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10302292"},{"teacherId":9696177,"projectId":9539080,"letterContent":"On behalf of our students and faculty, I want to express our gratitude for your contribution that made it possible to add an additional TV monitor in our classroom. \r\n\r\nThe additional screen has allowed us to display instructional materials, multimedia activities, and real-time content simultaneously, which has greatly enhanced collaboration and comprehension. Many of them had been sharing materials or trying to keep up without the basics, so seeing everything ready for them created a sense of relief and motivation.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have already made a noticeable difference during our digital math stations. Students use them for math video lessons, online practice, and skill-building programs that adjust to their level. One student put on his new pair and said, \"I can actually focus now!\" For the first time this year, he completed an entire online assignment without distractions. It was such a powerful reminder of what the right tools can do.\r\n\r\nThe binders have also been a huge help in keeping students organized. We're using them to store guided notes, practice problems, and completed classwork. Instead of papers disappearing or getting crumpled in backpacks, students now have a structured place for everything. This has made it easier for them to review past lessons and stay on track during new ones.\r\n\r\nThe pencils and wipes support our daily routines, keeping our classroom clean, calm, and ready for learning. And the snacks have provided a meaningful boost—students can stay focused during math lessons instead of being distracted by hunger.\r\n\r\nAs we move into our next unit, students will be using their binders to maintain a running collection of notes and problem-solving strategies. The headphones will continue to support their individualized practice during station rotations.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools they need to feel supported, organized, and confident. The moment they walked in and saw the desk assembled in the corner, their reactions ranged from excited whispers to wide-eyed surprise. One student even said, \"This feels like a real workspace, like we're in charge!\"\r\n\r\nWe've been using the standing desk as part of our flexible seating rotations, and it has already transformed the way many students approach their work. Several of my more active learners gravitate toward it during writing and reading workshop. One memorable moment happened during our nonfiction research project: a student who typically struggles to stay focused asked if she could work at the standing desk. Not only did she stay engaged for the entire session, but she proudly shared her completed notes at the end—something she rarely does without prompting. The ability to move, shift, and stand while working has given students a sense of independence and ownership over their learning.\r\n\r\nThis resource has also become a go-to spot during small-group instruction. Students who need a break from traditional seating find that the standing desk helps them re-center and be more attentive. It's a simple change that has made a meaningful difference in our classroom rhythm.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our current unit, students will be using the standing desk during peer-editing sessions and collaborative projects. The added flexibility is helping them communicate, stay focused, and take pride in their workspace. We're excited to keep building a classroom environment where every student can find the tools and spaces they need to do their best work.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students this opportunity. That sense of ownership motivated them to take greater responsibility for their learning.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building strong math habits. Within minutes, the room shifted, and students became more alert, engaged, and ready to continue. Your contribution helped transform what could have been a difficult class period into a productive and positive one.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue to use these snacks as fuel in our ongoing units. The players were able to track their progress more effectively because they had enough equipment for repeated reps without interruption. The protein bars have also been a huge help—our students often come straight from a full school day to practice, so having healthy fuel on hand has noticeably boosted their energy and performance.\r\n\r\nThey were genuinely excited and grateful. In Economics and U.S. Government, visuals matter. Being able to print charts, infographics, political cartoons, and budget templates in color helps them understand the content faster, especially for my English Language Learners and visual learners. They're pointing things out, noticing details they used to miss, and asking better questions because they can actually see what's happening on the page.\r\n\r\nWhat excites them the most is how their work looks when it's printed. They love seeing their budgets, projects, and posters look professional. Several of my seniors told me it makes them feel like their work \"counts,\" which is huge for students who don't always feel connected to school. One of my quieter students, who rarely speaks up, now volunteers to help print materials for group projects because he \"likes making everything look official.\" Little moments like that remind me how much access can impact confidence.\r\n\r\nThis printer isn't just a tool, it's something that's helping my students feel proud of what they create.
