One of my favorite moments came when a usually quiet student raised her hand to share a thoughtful connection she'd written in the margin—something she proudly explained she could only do because she finally had her own book to work with.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the books laid out on the table, their excitement was immediate. Several eagerly flipped through the pages, others traded predictions about the plot, and one student hugged his copy and said, \"I've never had a brand-new book before!\" Their joy reminded me how powerful it is to place real, accessible literature into their hands.\r\n\r\nWe're now moving into the next phase of our book club: student-led discussions and small-group projects where they'll create character journals, alternate endings, and theme posters based on what they've read. These books have opened up a world of curiosity and confidence for my students, and your support made all of it possible. However, the installation on the wall is high for small first grade students. \r\n\r\nThe step adds few inches that they really need to interact with the activities on the screen. It is a huge benefit in the classroom. \r\n\r\nIt is also designed not to move or slide while they are on it, and it is treated so they will not slip while standing on top of it. This provides an extra safety feature that is very beneficial for the children. We use it every day in the classroom. It has really made a difference.
