These resources have made a meaningful impact on my students and their overall well-being. Many of the students were ready and willing to assist me with putting the supplies on the shelves or in the cabinet. These contributions, made by family, friends, and anonymous donors, have had a meaningful impact on my sessions with students. Snacks have proven to be an effective tool in building rapport, especially for students who may be hesitant about therapy or new to the process. Offering a small treat creates a welcoming atmosphere, helping to ease anxiety and encourage participation. It has been heartwarming to see how something as simple as a snack can make students feel more comfortable and engaged during our time together.\r\n\r\nBeyond engagement, these donations serve a deeper purpose. Many of my students face challenges that extend beyond the therapy room, including food insecurity. Having snacks available ensures that they can focus on their sessions without the distraction of hunger. It also fosters a sense of care and connection, showing them that there are people who support their well-being, even from a distance.
