Your contribution to \"Getting Comfy and Cozy During Reading\" makes a difference in students learning every.single.day. The rug is used everyday for whole group and partner Reading. The students LOVE the rainbow-colored carpet! They were so happy and excited to open and sit on the rug. Students are proud and take responsibility in taking care of cleaning the rug. The rug is the center of the classroom in every subject; however, it is especially special to read stories together and listen to read a-louds. We appreciate YOU and making the time to invest in the future!\r\n\r\n Next, your contribution to our library and Quiet Corner has made a tremendous impact to extending their knowledge of topics with various series and emotional regulation. Students have taken the chapter books home and to lunch excitedly because they cannot wait to read what happens next in the book. They are so proud that they are reading FUN, chapter books in First Grade. Students have become voracious readers. They are ready to move on to the next book in their series and share the story. Why is this important? As a result to EXPOSURE to different topics their reading comprehension has grown because of their excitement. They go back into the text (which is huge) to share what happened to the character(s) and why the events were important. In addition, the Quiet Corner is a Comfy and Cozy place for students to calm down and reset their emotions when needed.
