I have never seen my students so happy as when we were unpacking our boxes of supplies. Each box had something different, and their eyes lit up with the games, books, and comprehension cards. When I opened the comprehension cards, I had mixed emotions from my students being asked to read yet another thing. However, once they began diving into the cards, they were finding subjects that kept them engaged and wanting to read them and ready to get a new card to read about something else. \r\nThe books I received were some of the k-2 Sunshine State Readers for this year. As we do class read aloud my students were ready to see what book was next. We would read the book, discuss the plot, unfamiliar words, and then take an Accelerated Reading quiz on the book to earn points towards going on our school's AR wall.\r\nThe reading games were a hit! My students were playing and not even realizing they were learning! They were helping each other to answer the questions and were talking to each other with respect as they played. These games are a definite great resource to use for reviews.","fullyFundedDate":1734446972024,"projectUrl":"project/reading-fun/8888808/","projectTitle":"Reading Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gompers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2955589"},{"teacherId":9622817,"projectId":8547498,"letterContent":"Founding our first grade classroom has made a huge impact in my first grade class!
