Our Lego club members have found that building Legos has helped them feel encouraged to come to school, and goal based. They are building Legos are such fast paces that their requests are never-ending. I would do anything to keep my students entertained and happy at school. They really enjoyed building these Legos and getting to see the actual modeling of car engines and tires working with certain parts having specific jobs. I had members of my STEAM club put it together and they are in charge of loading the filament color they want for each project. We work after school to talk about design ideas and plan for suture projects. \r\nOur first project was to make fidget rings for students who have a tendency to fidget endlessly in class. This has made classroom time quieter for sure. We've moved on to fidget snakes and cubes and will soon try to make other things. We were able to build balloon powered cars and test them to go along with our units on energy and motion. It was a sight to see them talk about things like aerodynamics and wind effects; and work together to build, name and race these cars. \r\n\r\nWe're just wrapping up on unit on Cells and DNA and will complete the crime scene kit. We have portable microscopes, and the kids love seeing that microscopes give you a deeper look at items.
