This has only been my third-year teaching, but as soon I stepped into the classroom I knew this was where I was meant to be. Although teaching has its trials and hardships, I would never exchange this experience. When I first started teaching, I didn't realize how much I would have to spend out of my pocket to ensure my students have access to the best education I can give them. Finding donors-choose has been such a relief and helps me plan out fun activities and projects for my students. \r\nI am a civics teacher in Florida, and we have been learning about the structure and function of the US Government and Florida Government. Most recently, we learned how a bill becomes a law. Although School House Rock beautifully sings the steps on how a bill becomes a law (\"I'm just a bill...\"), I wanted my students to create a comic strip to fully break down how a bill officially becomes a law. At first, I was hesitant to distribute this activity because I wanted my students to be able to color their projects. The supplies I had was old and I didn't have enough for all students to use. But with your donations, my students created the best comic strips! They worked for two days and created well-thought-out comic strips that helped them digest the lawmaking process. \r\nI couldn't just let these projects sit in their backpacks with little to no recognition! With the new laminator, students helped me create a display in the hallway to show off what they created. Middle schoolers pretend to be tough and not care about school, but as soon as you display their work and highlight their efforts in class, they turn into proud scholars. This also inspires other students to try harder in class! They ask \"Ms. Bolen, how can I get my work on the board, \" or \"I want to be up there too!!\" \r\nHaving supplies as simple as crayons and a laminator elevates the level of education I am able to provide for my students. Thank you so much for your donations and considering my classroom! Our next project is \"Create your own Country\", I can't wait to see what my students create!","fullyFundedDate":1757683063603,"projectUrl":"project/ms-bolens-classroom/9651338/","projectTitle":"Ms. Bolen’s Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bolen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10053050"},{"teacherId":9738768,"projectId":8753031,"letterContent":"I cannot begin to thank you enough for your donation to my classroom.
