I will tell you a little bit about my students and me and why this is such a big deal. I am a first year teacher and moved 4 hours from where I lived and 2.5 hours from my family. I inherited classroom from someone who was very different than me. I found very few instruments in storage but knew I could make due with what we had.\r\nAfter a few weeks of school, my students slowly started falling in love with music class but it was sad to see them hitting on the same wooden sticks everyday and having my older students share/not have the same instruments. They were unfazed and still had fun.\r\n\r\nThe day I physically showed them the new instruments and whiteboards, they were so happy! It felt nice for them to be able to choose whatever instrument they wanted now. After using the new materials for a while, I saw a shift in attitude and management. They were already happy to come to music, but now they're more excited when I say \"you can get the castanets, etc\". They also behave better because they actually have stuff to do.\r\nNow that all my 4th graders have recorders, I may be able to work with them afterschool. The class that got the new recorders felt very special. Though these instruments are toy-like, they really do make the children more passionate and excited for music.\r\n\r\n100 supplies is a big deal, and this has made a huge impact in their lives. They are very thankful as am I.","fullyFundedDate":1760693781030,"projectUrl":"project/lets-get-noisy-be-your-own-muse-in-mus/9823482/","projectTitle":"Let's Get Noisy!
