Students are most excited for the studio light box and the rotating display to take pictures of the products that they have made for our class. In the past, they have been using plain white or black paper as their backdrop but often find the need for more lighting. They enjoy having professional looking photos to capture their class projects.\r\nLearning how to hem has been easier for the students with the use of the fabric chalk, iron and ironing mat blanket. Now we can easily outline where they need to cut and have a lower learning curve with the hemmer foot.\r\nStudents also enjoyed creating their own memory booklets using the binding machine for their projects and the rolling desks allows the materials to go to each student rather than having the students crowd in one area. Ambient lighting helps students feel well and welcome in their learning environment. Teaching can happen when students believe they belong. \r\n\r\nHaving the students' immediate verbal \"ooh\" and \"aah\" reaction was great to see and hear, and having their written reflections confirmed the experience. Many other written reflections also document students' ability to focus and concentrate on handwriting - which is a key component of my classroom experience. I'm glad for that. \r\n\r\nFiat lux! While functional, it was a constant challenge to project assignments while trying to keep sensitive student information private on a split screen. Now, I can project lessons from my laptop while conducting one-on-one student conferences at my desk. I no longer have to worry about accidentally sharing a student's work or grades with the entire class.\r\n\r\nThe desktop monitor is also much larger than my laptop screen, allowing me to work far more efficiently. I can now grade without struggling to read small print and can easily manage multiple windows while lesson planning.
