The students were truly excited to prepare the space for our community and their enthusiasm wasn't just about \"new stuff,\" but about feeling like their environment truly matters.\r\n\r\nWe are currently featuring these resources as \"highlighted items\" for our Dolphins Market project. Specifically, during a recent \"Employee Huddle,\" I asked the student workers for ideas on how to move slow-selling stock. They immediately suggested using the new items as part of a strategic marketing plan to drive traffic to the other shelves. Seeing them apply real-world business logic outside of a traditional textbook is a direct result of your kindness.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has given us a great head start, but we're just getting warmed up! Over the next few months, the students will be using the donated bins to streamline our inventory and shelf displays, collaborate on school-wide commercials to showcase new arrivals, and brainstorm creative ways to bundle products and increase overall sales.\r\nThank you for being a part of our classroom community and for investing in these bright young minds. When I opened the boxes, the students were in a state of absolute shock and disbelief; their eyes widened as I brought out the rockers and the room quickly filled with squeals of pure excitement. The smiles on their faces lit up the room. It was a milestone moment for our class to see that people like you are so invested in their comfort and success. In the attached photo, you can see the students showing their appreciation with a big shaka, a symbol of the joy and gratitude they feel for your support.\r\n\r\nThese new additions have become the heart of our silent reading and \"read to self\" centers, sparking a renewed love of learning and deep engagement with their books. These rockers are especially impactful for my students who benefit from movement to stay focused; the gentle motion helps them settle into their tasks rather than feeling restless. The students are now more motivated than ever, often using the chance to use a rocker or cushion as a special incentive to finish their work on time. By providing a flexible, cozy space where they can truly get lost in a story, you have empowered them to take ownership of their reading goals. The carpet and bean bags are used consistently to provide students with a comfortable, sensory-friendly area for breaks and quiet focus, greatly aiding in self-regulation. The games are amazing for facilitating therapy activities, keeping students engaged while targeting essential articulation, language, and social goals. Furthermore, the Kindle is actively used by both the teacher and students to read age-appropriate books and learn more about specific speech and language topics. A particularly successful moment involved using a new board game to practice crucial pragmatic language skills like turn-taking and conversational reciprocity between two students who usually struggle with those areas, leading to successful unprompted conversation.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reaction was one of pure excitement and immediate engagement. They learned that it is harder than they thought it was to play. \r\n\r\nWe have been going out to the courts almost every week for PE. The first couple of weeks, we did not set up the net while the students were developing their hand-eye coordination and getting used to hitting the ball softly. After, they started to get the hang of hitting the ball. We incorporated one net to start. I taught the students how to start an official game of pickleball and we rotated through the whole class. As the students start to understand the game more, they will be able to play and keep score by themselves. We are working towards them learning the rules of the game and setting up both of the nets so they can rotate and play. They will have to learn to work together, in teams, and communicate with each other. I also would like to set up a buddies class, where we partner with a lower grade to teach them how to play, so they can develop their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.","fullyFundedDate":1759622514328,"projectUrl":"project/active-minds-active-bodies-pickleball/9783923/","projectTitle":"Active Minds, Active Bodies: Pickleball for Wellness","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Carli","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10297068"},{"teacherId":10296087,"projectId":9781716,"letterContent":"The Classroom Treasure Chest has made a tremendous impact on both my teaching and my students' daily learning experience. What might seem like a small gesture—providing fun, themed erasers—has created a big wave of excitement, motivation, and engagement in our classroom routines. These erasers have quickly become a prized classroom incentive, encouraging positive behavior, active participation, and academic effort across subjects. Whether we are engaged in hands-on math lessons or focused literacy activities, the students now have something extra to look forward to that makes learning even more meaningful.\r\nOne particularly memorable moment occurred during a group reading lesson. The atmosphere in the classroom shifted as students became laser-focused and enthusiastic, with an energy that was contagious. Even my more hesitant readers, who usually avoid the spotlight, were suddenly eager to participate and take ownership of their learning. It was clear that the excitement of earning a special eraser from the treasure chest gave them a new sense of confidence and pride. These small rewards created a huge emotional payoff, turning routine lessons into something students looked forward to every day.\r\nThe moment students first saw the treasure chest is one I won't forget. Their faces lit up with pure joy and curiosity. They crowded around it, asking, \"What's inside?\" and \"Can we open it today?\" The anticipation was magical. Once they discovered the adorable erasers inside—shaped like animals, food, stars, and more—they couldn't wait to earn one. It was heartwarming to see how something so simple could spark such genuine excitement. The treasure chest became more than just a box of supplies—it became a symbol of achievement, encouragement, and fun.\r\nRecently, we completed a cross-curricular project tied to science and observational writing. Students were assigned to go home, observe the night sky, and return the next morning with a short report. The sense of responsibility they showed in completing this project was incredible. Many even went beyond the requirements, adding drawings or additional facts they researched on their own. The next morning, each student proudly presented their data to the class, and their level of detail and presentation clearly reflected the pride they felt. Several students shared that they worked hard because they were excited to earn a new eraser from the treasure chest for doing their best—and it showed!\r\nAs we move forward, we're preparing to dive into a science unit on light. I plan to use the erasers as both incentives and creative tools. For example, students will document their observations during light experiments, and those who demonstrate curiosity, teamwork, and perseverance will get to choose a special eraser as recognition. These incentives continue to encourage a culture of effort, exploration, and joy in learning.\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students are not only engaged but genuinely enjoying their learning experiences. They're motivated, proud of their work, and eager to participate. You've helped create a classroom culture where effort is celebrated and curiosity thrives—and that's a gift with lasting impact.","fullyFundedDate":1759602333739,"projectUrl":"project/ms-forges-classroom-treasure-chest/9781716/","projectTitle":"Ms. Forges' Classroom Treasure Chest","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Forges","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10296087"},{"teacherId":9686561,"projectId":9699256,"letterContent":"Our class is beyond grateful for your generous donation.
