When the packages arrived for this project, they were so excited. It was like Christmas morning.\r\n\r\nEvery single child has enjoyed the benefits of these materials. The compression vest is a favorite. They call it the \"hug vest.\" Students love going in the tent for some quiet, low sensory work time. The fine motor activities have been a big hit as well.\r\n\r\nThese projects have benefitted my students for their intended use but also in unexpected ways. Students have practiced skills like sharing by taking turns with the materials. They have shown empathy when more than one person wants to use something but they can see that someone is noticeably needing the break or hug more than them.
