My students have had the opportunity to do art in the community with other people with disabilities. They have loved painting in class. I have loved seeing the excitement in their faces when we get to paint or do music. My students have also done well with the paint classes in the community. They have followed the art teachers directions to make really unique paintings. The students also had a chance to socialize with other people their age in other transition programs while at art class. Now that we have the materials, we are working on getting an art teacher for other days so that all classes have the opportunity to do art with others in the community. I feel the opportunity to do these art and music classes have helped students with confidence, motivation, emotional expression, stress reduction, self regulation, and social connection. Students have been really engaged and interested in these opportunities. We are working on finding a music teacher to do some music classes for a couple transition programs. Thank you for your donations for the materials so that all of my students can keep doing these art and music classes.","fullyFundedDate":1759331975126,"projectUrl":"project/connecting-with-the-community/9744943/","projectTitle":"Connecting with the Community","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reyes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10273508"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_134513","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":null,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":false,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":84.6,"schoolId":134513,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pathways Transition Center on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Pathways Transition Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/community-unit-school-district-308/pathways-transition-center/134513"}
