When the practice pads arrived, they were excited and started to drum on them. These pads have reignited their excitement for learning how to play the snare drum. Each morning, I have several students, not just percussionists, but all students, race down to my classroom to start practicing on the pads. It's great to see them motivated once again. \r\n\r\nI have individual lessons on Friday with all my percussion students, and we are currently learning a piece of music that requires us to play on the practice pads. While using these pads, I am instilling proper drumming technique and helping them solidify a steady tempo while learning the basic rudiment skills required to play the snare drum.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my percussion kids are to create a percussion ensemble for them, so that they aren't just in the back of the band at concert time. It will put them front and center for a couple of pieces of music. I am also hoping that this will help us transition into creating a junior high drum line and possibly play at a couple of games next year.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your help getting my students excited once again.","fullyFundedDate":1765558089847,"projectUrl":"project/percussion-practice-pads/9953289/","projectTitle":"Percussion Practice Pads","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Todd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10380137"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28959","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":217,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":90,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"9.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":59.5,"schoolId":28959,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Parkview Junior High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Parkview Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/lawrence-county-community-school-district-20/parkview-junior-high-school/28959"}
