We waited for the supplies to show up to our school and when the boxes arrived, our students were so excited because they knew they were our regulation tools to help them during times of anxiety and frustration. It was just like Christmas morning! After all the packages arrived, we opened each box and went over each tool and how it could be used. Each of our students got an opportunity to try the tool and determine if it was the right fit for them. Our students were extremely honest and quite a few of them only selected what they felt would truly help them the most. I will say the stress balls and the infinity break-apart loops were definite favorites. \r\n In addition, our class has been learning about anger management and how to break the anger cycle. We have discussed the parts of our brain and how our reactions can make the problem bigger or better. The sour warheads are an excellent way to \"zap\" our brain out of the anger cycle and try to get regulated instead. When we created visuals for our toolboxes by using the Zones of Regulation Curriculum, most of our students shared that sour candy helps them the most when they are in the red zone and exploding with anger. \r\n Thank you so much for caring for my students and helping me ensure their success as I continue educating them on their brains, anger management, stress management, and more. The work we are doing to help them regulate themselves prepares them better for academic tasks and, in turn makes them more successful across all areas of their life at school. However, our work would not have been possible without your generous gift and willingness to help. Thank you so much.","fullyFundedDate":1766156435027,"projectUrl":"project/regulation-tools/9962167/","projectTitle":"Regulation Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Keenan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7571163"},{"teacherId":7571163,"projectId":9110017,"letterContent":"Since adding new materials to the classroom, my students have started playing more together than before because now there are enough materials for them to share! They were so excited to see all the new materials and seeing their faces light up meant the world to my team and I. I have loved seeing each child create cities, towers, turn into Steve from Minecraft and so many more things. The ability to see their creative minds grow has been such a wonderful blessing.\r\n I think the most incredible impact though is that my students remind each other that people outside of the school helped buy these materials and that they need to care for these materials and treat them with gentleness. I teach students who have large behaviors that often result in materials being broken or damaged, but these materials are so cherished and special to my students that when they see other students playing roughly with them they remind them that they are to be treated with kindness. \r\n Thank you so much for making my classroom a better place for my students.
