Your generous donations have allowed our students to expand their minds and creativity. They are learning to use a program called TinkerCad to design objects that can be printed using our 3D printer. Our first phase includes simply using the tools in TinkerCad to create something of interest to the students. I want students to be comfortable manipulating objects and tools within the program before adding the challenge of creating something designed for a specific purpose.\r\n\r\nThe students were very excited to use the program and see their designs come to life! A few examples of the things students created are a keychain, a track with a ball to travel it, and miscellaneous accessories to go onto their toys at home.\r\n\r\nIn the following phases, we will integrate the students' knowledge of TinkerCad design with academic content. For example, in second grade students have a project where they add adaptions to an animal to allow it to live in another habitat. Fourth grade students have to design prosthetics for animals with a disability. With the knowledge of TinkerCad tools, they will be able to use the materials your donations helped allowed us to purchase to bring those ideas to life.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, students are able to see the product of their hard work.","fullyFundedDate":1763566829849,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-young-innovators-equipping-stud/9899292/","projectTitle":"Fueling Young Innovators: Equipping Students for Hands-On 3D Design","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Stubbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1502846_orig.jpg?crop=638,638,x0,y110&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742427858114","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/stubbs"},{"teacherId":8358170,"projectId":9924272,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our Chompsaw project. Because of your generosity, my students had the chance to experience hands-on learning in a way that truly brought engineering to life. Your donation didn't just provide tools — it opened the door for creativity, problem-solving, and confidence-building in our classroom.\r\n\r\nMy fourth graders were especially excited as they used the saws to cut cardboard blades for the windmills they designed. They carefully planned, tested, and improved their ideas, and many of them said they \"felt like real engineers.\" Being able to safely cut their own materials gave them ownership of their work and pride in what they built.\r\n\r\nOur second graders also put the Chompsaws to work as they cut shapes for their cooler designs, created to keep a popsicle from melting. Watching such young students think through insulation, structure, and design — and then build their ideas with their own hands — was incredible. Thank you for helping create meaningful, hands-on STEM experiences my students will remember long after this project ends.","fullyFundedDate":1764788843589,"projectUrl":"project/creating-with-cardboard/9924272/","projectTitle":"Creating with Cardboard!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shoup","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8358170_orig.jpg?crop=288,288,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764075439965","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8358170"},{"teacherId":1502846,"projectId":9562494,"letterContent":"My students have already had the experience of using Dash robots for math this year! After Dash finished the shape, students used a meter stick to measure the side lengths and compare them to the side lengths in the code.
