Because of your contributions, our students were able to take part in a meaningful service project that made a real difference in our community.\r\n\r\nUsing the donated materials, our students created special bags for the Breadbasket to support individuals and families in need. In the past, we have focused mainly on collecting basic hygiene items, but thanks to your support, we were able to go beyond the basics this year. Students thoughtfully assembled bags that included extra items to make them feel more personal and special—something that truly showed care, compassion, and dignity for those receiving them.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw all the materials available, they were excited and immediately began talking about how they could make each bag meaningful. It turned into a powerful moment as they carefully selected and organized items, making sure each bag was something they would feel proud to give. One student shared that they wanted the person receiving the bag to \"feel like someone cares about them,\" which really captured the heart of this project.\r\n\r\nBeyond assembling the bags, this experience opened the door to important conversations about kindness, empathy, and giving back. Our students were able to see firsthand how their actions can positively impact others, which is especially meaningful for them.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we plan to continue building on this lesson by exploring more opportunities for community involvement and service learning. Students are already brainstorming new ways they can support others and make a difference, both in and out of the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour generosity didn't just provide supplies—it created an opportunity for our students to grow as compassionate, thoughtful individuals. Thank you for helping us make this experience possible.","fullyFundedDate":1773424043091,"projectUrl":"project/hygiene-and-care-bags-for-the-homeless/10112074/","projectTitle":"Hygiene and care bags for the homeless","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. O'Neal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9806880_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729396977065","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9806880"},{"teacherId":9806880,"projectId":10014436,"letterContent":"The addition of our new television through ǿմý has made a meaningful and measurable difference in our school community. In a behavioral school setting, engagement and positive reinforcement are everything. The TV has allowed us to provide structured incentives, interactive activities, and visual supports that keep students motivated and focused. Whether we are using it for reward-based movie time, guided mindfulness videos, collaborative games, or social-emotional learning lessons, students are excited to participate and are more willing to work toward positive behavior goals.\r\n\r\nOne of the greatest benefits has been placing the TV on a portable stand, which allows us to move it throughout the building. Because of this flexibility, the entire school is able to utilize it—not just one classroom. It has become a shared tool for reinforcing expectations, celebrating successes, and providing engaging breaks that help students reset. This accessibility has strengthened consistency across staff and classrooms, which is critical in a behavioral setting.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, the TV has significantly helped curb negative behaviors by giving students something meaningful to work toward. Having clear, visual, and immediate incentives has increased positive choices and improved overall morale. It has not only enhanced engagement but has also helped create a more unified, encouraging school culture. We are incredibly grateful for the impact this resource has had on our students and staff.","fullyFundedDate":1769820381376,"projectUrl":"project/screen-time-with-purpose-incentives-and/10014436/","projectTitle":"Screen Time With Purpose: Incentives and Interactive Learning for Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. O'Neal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9806880_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729396977065","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9806880"},{"teacherId":9806880,"projectId":9980462,"letterContent":"The addition of the sandscape and the dance mat has had a meaningful and positive impact on our students. The dance mat has quickly become a favorite, encouraging kids to get up, move their bodies, and have fun while being active. Students are excited to use it, and it has helped promote healthy choices, physical movement, and positive energy throughout the school day. It's been especially helpful for students who need a movement break to refocus and regulate their emotions.\r\n\r\nThe Sandscape has been equally impactful in a different way. Students are drawn to how calming and soothing it is, often describing it as relaxing and peaceful. Many students choose to use it intentionally as a tool to regulate, calm their bodies, and practice mindfulness or quiet meditation. It has become a trusted coping strategy for students who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or overstimulated, helping them slow down and reset in a healthy way. Together, these tools support both physical wellness and emotional regulation, meeting our students' needs in a well-rounded and meaningful way.","fullyFundedDate":1767895479007,"projectUrl":"project/experiencing-lunar-new-year-through-mind/9980462/","projectTitle":"Experiencing Lunar New Year Through Mindfulness, Movement, and Cultural Exploration","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. O'Neal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9806880_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729396977065","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9806880"},{"teacherId":9806880,"projectId":9654864,"letterContent":"Our students have absolutely loved using the new financial literacy resources, and they've transformed our classroom in the best way. From the moment the materials arrived, the kids were buzzing with excitement. They immediately dove into the games, simulations, and hands-on activities, and it has made learning about business, life skills, and money management both engaging and fun. One of my favorite moments was watching a group of students work together during a budgeting game—they were so focused on making smart decisions that they forgot they were technically \"in class.\"\r\n\r\nThese resources have turned our business lessons into something the students truly look forward to. Many of them have shared that it's the first time they've ever felt confident learning about finances, and they love that the activities feel like games instead of traditional assignments. It has sparked great conversations about saving, spending, earning, and planning for their futures. The interactive materials have helped students of all levels participate, stay engaged, and build real-life skills that they can use long after they leave our classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through this unit, students will be applying what they've learned to larger projects, including designing small business plans, practicing real-world budgeting, and exploring career paths tied to financial stability. Your support has made this possible, and our students are genuinely excited for what's coming next. Thank you for giving them the tools to build confidence, independence, and a stronger foundation for their future.","fullyFundedDate":1758031356484,"projectUrl":"project/money-in-action-hands-on-financial-lit/9654864/","projectTitle":"“Money in Action: Hands-On Financial Literacy for Students”","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. O'Neal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9806880_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729396977065","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9806880"},{"teacherId":9806880,"projectId":9286762,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generosity of our donors, our students now have a sensory room that is making a meaningful difference every day.
