The TI-84 is the standard graphing calculator for most high school and college math classes. The students are expected to be knowledgeable of these calculators and be proficient in using them. \r\n\r\nI teach in an urban area and a large number of my students cannot afford to buy a calculator, since it costs over $100. With the calculators you donated, I am able to ensure that every student has access to a calculator during my classes. I do not want the students to share calculators, because I want everyone to do their own work. \r\n\r\nMany of my students were happy to get to use a graphing calculator on their own. They help each other when they don't understand and they want to understand the calculator better. We have done a redesign to best support the students and their feedback. Due to several of our students experiencing anxiety and often having panic attacks, we've allowed them space to safely regulate without getting hurt or being in front of others by having several toys, blankets, tents, and stuffed animals to help them ride the wave of tolerance.\r\n\r\nOur coloring area has greatly expanded which has been another success for students. Several of them been excited to see more art supplies for them to use when they are in distress and can't verbally get out what is going on for them. We were also able to purchase some new training aids for the MS and HS volleyball teams. \r\nMany of the students helped me move boxes, upon boxes of shoes and socks to my office to inventory and store until track season begins. They are always shocked and in awe of the help that we receive for my projects from total strangers. Many have even stated that they hope that when they are older they too can help others when needed.
