I myself want to personally thank you for giving my students this opportunity. I would like to thank you all again on behalf of my students and their love of the new equipment. \r\n\r\nI set up the new equipment without telling any of the kids. When they all saw the equipment for the first time their faces lit up! They ran to grab the discs and started throwing them. It was entertaining watching them all try to throw the discs this way and the other. After spending some time with each class teaching them how to throw they began to get the hang of it. One student in particular began using the discs and getting extra time with me to play with them became a reward he wanted to work for. He began completing work for the first time all year! He now completes work daily and participates in class so he can earn time playing with the discs. \r\n\r\nThe baskets and discs have become such a standard part of recess for our school now. My principal is even having the baskets placed permanently into the ground as part of the equipment. I sincerely thank you all once again for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1729007376832,"projectUrl":"project/letting-our-feelings-fly/8849582/","projectTitle":"Letting Our Feelings Fly!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Solis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9617072"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_57528","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":318,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":44,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":66.4,"schoolId":57528,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Highland Park Central Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Highland Park Central Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/topeka-unified-school-district-501/highland-park-central-elementary-school/57528"}
