Because of you, our students—many of whom face economic hardships and have limited access to books outside of school—will now have the opportunity to fall in love with reading.\r\nThe books you helped provide, including engaging series like Dog Man, graphic novels like Amulet and New Kid, and beloved picture books like The Pigeon Series, have already made a meaningful difference. These titles were carefully chosen to appeal to a wide range of readers—from our earliest learners to reluctant upper-grade readers—and will help build fluency, comprehension, and, most importantly, confidence and joy in reading.\r\nFor many of our students, the school library is their only access to books. Thanks to you, they now have more chances to explore stories that speak to them and discover the magic that reading can bring.\r\nWe are incredibly grateful!","fullyFundedDate":1746787378011,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-the-joy-of-reading-to-our-stude/9230010/","projectTitle":"Bringing the Joy of Reading to Our Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Puetz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5890146"},{"teacherId":5890146,"projectId":8783742,"letterContent":"The maker space in the library has quickly become a beloved area where students actively engage with a variety of materials and technologies that spark their curiosity and creativity. Students are regularly using the materials to build, design, and experiment. They are eagerly applying their creativity to real-world problems, working collaboratively to explore new solutions, and gaining confidence in their abilities along the way.\r\nStudents are experiencing the excitement of using tools and resources they might not have had access to elsewhere. These hands-on activities are deeply impactful, allowing students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in an environment that feels both supportive and empowering. The tangible nature of the materials helps them see the results of their efforts in real-time, creating a sense of accomplishment and boosting their enthusiasm for learning.\r\nThe joy students experience in the maker space is evident in their excitement and energy. They love diving into projects, often staying longer than expected to finish a creation or explore a new idea. The materials allow them to express themselves in new ways, offering an outlet for their creativity and building their passion for innovation. This space not only fosters technical skills but also strengthens their ability to collaborate, communicate, and think independently.\r\nBy engaging with the maker space, students are not only having fun but also gaining valuable skills that will serve them for years to come. The impact is clear: the materials are helping students develop a love for learning, build resilience, and gain the confidence to tackle challenges, all while enjoying a creative, hands-on learning experience.
