Our kindergarten students have been working hard to learn letters and sounds as well as isolating letter sounds in words. They have used the alphabet tubs to name the objects (which has expanded vocabulary) and make the sound they hear at the beginning of the word when naming each object. \r\nThey have created a game called \"Alphabet Soup\" with the miniature figures and tubs. They place all of the objects into a common bowl (to make the soup) and take turns choosing items from the common bowl, naming the object, isolating the initial sound, and matching it to the individual bowls with corresponding letters. They ask to play alphabet soup almost daily. \r\nThank you for your support in providing exciting and engaging materials for our classroom. We will use the magnetic money as we learn the names of coins and their values. The number paths will be used to further develop fact fluency and determining and comparing number values.
