Because of your contributions, my students will now have access to a rich variety of brain teasers and logic puzzles that will challenge them to think deeper and push the boundaries of their curiosity.\r\n\r\nIn a STEAM environment, the ability to approach a problem from multiple angles is just as important as the technical skills themselves. These brain teasers provide a unique platform for my students to practice lateral thinking and logical reasoning in a way that feels like play. Whether they are untangling a physical puzzle or solving a complex riddle, they are building the cognitive flexibility required for engineering, coding, and scientific inquiry. Your support ensures that our classroom remains a space where \"thinking outside the box\" is not just encouraged, but actively practiced.\r\n\r\nBeyond the academic perks, your gift is helping to foster resilience and a growth mindset in these young learners. STEAM challenges can be frustrating, but the satisfaction of cracking a difficult puzzle teaches students that perseverance pays off. The moment the boxes arrived, our classroom was filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation. Watching the children's faces light up as they saw the new building space was a truly magical experience. The wall and tubs have completely transformed our learning environment, creating a dedicated space where imagination and teamwork can flourish.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your gift has been immediate and profound. Our students are naturally drawn to the LEGO wall, where they collaborate to build everything from towering castles to complex cities. We've seen shy students open up, sharing their ideas and working with new friends. The LEGOs have become a powerful tool for teaching key STEAM concepts; students are experimenting with balance and symmetry, learning to count and sort, and developing critical problem-solving skills as they design, test, and revise their creations. It is a joy to witness their focus and persistence as they overcome challenges and celebrate their successes.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given our young learners so much more than building blocks—it has given them a foundation for future success. The LEGO wall is not just an activity; it is a permanent part of our classroom that inspires creativity, resilience, and a love for hands-on learning every single day. With a fresh supply of colorful and diverse filament types, my students were able to dive deeper into 3D design and printing projects with renewed excitement and creativity. For many of them, this was their first time bringing a digital design to life in a tangible form, and the sense of accomplishment they felt was truly inspiring. Projects ranged from designing keychains and name tags to creating simple mechanical parts and models that tied into our science and math lessons.\r\n\r\nHaving access to a wide range of filament colors allowed students to personalize their projects and think more intentionally about their designs. It encouraged them to be more expressive, take pride in their work, and collaborate with peers on more complex ideas. More importantly, it opened up conversations about how 3D printing is used in real-world industries—from engineering and healthcare to fashion and architecture—giving them a glimpse into future career possibilities.\r\n\r\nThis donation didn't just provide classroom supplies; it empowered my students to explore, experiment, and engage in STEM learning in a way that felt exciting and relevant. We use our computers for several online programs that support learning in math and reading. Before we got these my students did not have the best quality headphones and they had a hard time understanding the different sounds in words or the difference in the short vowel sounds. Now they are able to hear the exact words and have improved in spelling, letter sound recognition and sight word reading. \r\n\r\nThey have also enjoyed using the microphone feature on these new headphones. Our reading program will record them reading and give them a reading rate. Before they could only use the microphone that was on the computer that picked up all the voices and noise around them, so their rathe was not accurate, and that left some students feeling defeated. Since we have been using these, they are able to try and beat their weekly score and their fluency rate has almost doubled for most students. This is especially true for my 2 students with autism. They are not distracted by noises since these are over the ear and block out noises. They are able to focus and they have not had issues doing their computer work.","fullyFundedDate":1738787302772,"projectUrl":"project/quality-headphones-help-with-focus/8914635/","projectTitle":"Quality Headphones Help With Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wallace","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9719327"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16294","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":441,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":48,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":68.6,"schoolId":16294,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Meadowview Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Meadowview Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/bossier-parish-school-district/meadowview-elementary-school/16294"}
