What may seem like a simple tool has truly transformed the way my students experience learning each day. Before receiving this printer, so many of our materials felt flat and limiting. Important visuals were printed in black and white, often making them harder for students to interpret and far less engaging. I've now been able to create bright, vivid visuals across all areas of learning, and the difference has been incredible!\r\n\r\nDuring storytime colorful sequencing cards and comprehension visuals have brought stories to life in a whole new way. Students can clearly follow along with events, make deeper connections, and engage more meaningfully with the text. Vocabulary instruction has also improved as students are better able to understand and remember new words when they are paired with vibrant, clear images instead of dull, confusing ones.\r\n\r\nThis shift has completely changed the atmosphere of our classroom. What once felt dim and sometimes overwhelming to navigate is now inviting, accessible, and full of energy. Students are more confident when participating, more excited to learn, and more proud of the work they create and share.\r\n\r\nThe printer has also allowed me to design more inclusive and supportive materials for all learners. Color-coded visuals, clear signage, and engaging resources have made our classroom easier to navigate and more responsive to students' diverse needs.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, learning in our classroom is more dynamic, joyful, and alive with color!","fullyFundedDate":1767143495669,"projectUrl":"project/printing-the-path-to-inclusive-learning/9655948/","projectTitle":"Printing the Path to Inclusive Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Keohane","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2533730_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1448856331120","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/keohane"},{"teacherId":2533730,"projectId":9718645,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting the creation of our classroom Think Space. Because of your donations we have been able to build a calming, inviting, and inclusive environment where students can take the time they need to pause, reflect, and return to learning feeling supported and ready.\r\n\r\nUsing the materials you provided students took ownership over designing a space where they can step away when they are feeling overwhelmed, identify their emotions, and choose strategies to help themselves regulate. The emotion blocks and emotion coins have been especially powerful tools. Students quickly learned how to use them to name complex feelings and even talk through how multiple emotions can exist at once. They've begun suggesting strategies to one another, like taking a walk when feeling anxious or asking for a hug when feeling sad, which has strengthened our sense of classroom community.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were incredibly excited. They eagerly began thoughtfully arranging the tools and even teaching each other how to use them. Watching them lead this process showed just how much they value having a space that belongs to them and supports their well-being.\r\n\r\nThe weighted animals have been a huge hit, especially during storytime. Students use them on the rug to help regulate their bodies, and I've seen a noticeable difference in their ability to stay calm, focused, and engaged during read-alouds without distracting others.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these materials have sparked meaningful social-emotional conversations that continue to grow every day. Students are becoming more self-aware, more empathetic, and more supportive of one another. Because of your kindness, our classroom is not just a place for academic learning, but a space where students feel safe, understood, and empowered. In PreK special education, students learn best when they can see and touch what they are learning. I use the printer daily to make visual schedules, picture cards, name cards, and early literacy activities that help students understand routines and expectations. Having these materials available has helped students feel calmer, more confident, and more successful throughout the day.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is seeing materials made just for them. They love recognizing their names, familiar pictures, and classroom activities. Being able to hold a picture or card helps the learning make sense and keeps them engaged.\r\n\r\nSome students have especially connected with these materials, particularly those who are still developing language or who struggle with transitions. Students who used to become upset during changes in the day now rely on printed visual schedules. Others use picture cards to make choices and communicate their needs. Being able to quickly print and adjust materials has helped me meet students where they are and support them in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting my students and helping make our classroom a more accessible and supportive place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1756813279923,"projectUrl":"project/bright-beginnings-a-color-printer-for-e/9665186/","projectTitle":"Bright Beginnings: A Color Printer for Engaging PreK Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Baldwin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9922999_orig.jpg?crop=1280,1280,x0,y499&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756517162443","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9922999"},{"teacherId":2533730,"projectId":9058525,"letterContent":"The Apple TV has transformed our library classroom into a more adaptable and engaging learning environment. Before this project was funded, technical glitches with an outdated projector slowed down lessons and distracted students from learning. Now I can instantly project videos, presentations, and websites, which allows lessons to flow naturally and keeps students focused on content rather than interruptions. This reliable, wireless connection has helped us integrate multimedia resources into daily instruction, supporting all kinds of learners in ways that weren't possible before.\r\n\r\nStudents are especially excited by how interactive classroom activities have become! Instead of passively watching from their seats, they are actively involved in presenting their work, exploring digital tools, and responding to lessons in real time. Students are taking ownership of learning tasks, collaborating with peers, and thinking more creatively about how they communicate ideas. Everyday activities like analyzing texts and conducting research feels more dynamic and authentic!\r\n\r\nI have seen particular growth among students who thrive when given opportunities to showcase their thinking visually. One student, who often held back during group discussions, has become eager to explain his reasoning when he can demonstrate it on the shared screen. Overall, this technology has helped students build confidence, develop communication skills, and participate more actively. Our new rug and individual headphone holders have already made a world of difference for my second graders.\r\n\r\nThe moment we unrolled the rug, students immediately gravitated toward it. Having a fresh, clean, comfortable space to gather has transformed the feeling of our room. It's become the heart of our classroom—where we meet for lessons, share stories, and build our community each day. The excitement and pride they have in caring for this special space is truly wonderful to witness.\r\n\r\nThe new headphone holders have also been a huge success. Before receiving them, we struggled with headphones getting tangled, misplaced, or broken. Now, each student has their own designated place to store their headphones, bringing both organization and a sense of personal responsibility to our daily activities. Students love having their own spot, and I've noticed how much more confident and independent they feel when their materials are neatly stored and easy to find.\r\n\r\nYour donation has not only improved our daily routines but has genuinely impacted the way students engage with learning.
