Every kid now has a variety of choices of books that they can feel confident reading independently. The decodable books I received directly connect to the phonics skills students are learning in their small groups. The other day a student was reading a book and was so excited to point out all the blends in the book. It's been great to see how students are able to make connections between these books and our classroom instruction.\r\n\r\nMany students are now feeling more confident in their reading. Last week was Read Across America week and every student in my fourth grade class was able to choose books to read. We did a reading buddy activity with a second grade class, which some of my beginning readers were nervous about. They were able to choose books they could decode and confidently have something to read to another student. Without these books, this group of students would not have been able to independently participate in our reading buddies activity. Thank you again for your support of our classroom and our goal to become strong readers.","fullyFundedDate":1770520862424,"projectUrl":"project/decodable-books-for-older-readers/10083027/","projectTitle":"Decodable Books for Older Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Browning","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8479921_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1770230045397","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8479921"},{"teacherId":2124118,"projectId":9891684,"letterContent":"My students and I cannot thank you enough for your support and generosity. When I told my team members we got gift cards to buy activities for the students they were thrilled!\r\n\r\nI have been using Teachers Pay Teachers a lot this year. We don't have a curriculum for for ESL so these gift cards have been a HUGE help! The amount of resources available on TpT are amazing. The interactive activities linked to the four language domains have been so helpful! It has also been helpful as I have some students who are non speakers and some who are intermediate so I can choose different levels of work/activities!\r\nWe are looking forward to purchasing more activities with the gift cards given!
