Many of my students come into class hungry or distracted, and having consistent access to snacks has helped create a calmer, more focused learning environment. We use the snacks during our academic support periods, especially when students are working on assignments from their other classes or catching up on missing work. Something as simple as a granola bar or snack break often helps students reset and re-engage so they can successfully complete their work.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snack supplies, their reactions were immediate — excitement, gratitude, and honestly, relief. Several students commented that it helped them get through the day, and others expressed appreciation knowing there was something available if they needed it. It helped build trust and showed them that our classroom is a supportive space where their basic needs matter.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to support our current classroom goals of building independence, improving work completion, and strengthening students' ability to stay regulated throughout the school day. As we move into upcoming projects and assignments, having snacks available allows students to stay present and focused, which ultimately helps them feel more successful academically and emotionally.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students not just snacks, but the ability to learn in a space where they feel cared for and supported.","fullyFundedDate":1764705131496,"projectUrl":"project/small-bites-big-impact/9726149/","projectTitle":"Small Bites, Big Impact","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Griffis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5883883_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1537154959242","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-griffis"},{"teacherId":5883883,"projectId":9173206,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom project! Thanks to your kindness, our students at Pathways High School now have access to a consistent supply of snacks. It was a small gesture that has made a huge impact.\r\n\r\nThe moment the snacks arrived, the students were excited and truly grateful. For many of our learners, school can be a challenging place, and having something as simple as a granola bar or fruit cup available during the day helps them feel more supported, focused, and ready to learn. One student said, \"It's nice to know someone cares about us enough to think about things like snacks.\" That kind of response demonstrates the true significance of your gift.\r\n\r\nWe've been incorporating the snacks into our daily routine, offering them during study breaks, before tests, or to help students refocus during emotionally challenging or difficult moments. It's become a small but essential part of how we care for the whole student mind and body.\r\n\r\nThank you again for being a part of our community.
