The books you helped provide have not only filled our shelves—they've filled our days with meaningful conversations, new perspectives, and a renewed sense of excitement about reading.\r\n\r\nIn our school, reading is more than just turning pages—it's an active process. We read with highlighters in hand, sticky notes at the ready, and our minds tuned in to explore characters' motivations, infer themes, and notice how authors craft their words. We practice slowing down to reread when something feels important or confusing. With these new books, students are learning how to ask deeper questions, track character growth, and build empathy through different points of view.\r\n\r\nSeveral of the books you helped fund have quickly become favorites. One student, who used to groan when it was time to read, now rushes to grab their book off the shelf and has even asked if they can take it home over the weekend. Another student, a strong reader, has begun mentoring a peer by recommending titles and talking about books during recess. These small but powerful moments are building our classroom reading culture.\r\n\r\nThese texts have given us the gift of choice. Students light up when they discover a book that reflects their life—or challenges them to think about someone else's. We talk about the hard stuff in safe ways: loss, identity, resilience, friendship, and hope. Your gift made that possible.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our readers and helping us grow not just as students, but as thoughtful, compassionate people.","fullyFundedDate":1746787382282,"projectUrl":"project/ramped-up-read-alouds/9256717/","projectTitle":"Ramped Up Read Alouds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lewis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4481847"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_71618","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":366,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":83,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.5,"schoolId":71618,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rogers Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Rogers Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/berkley-school-district/rogers-elementary-school/71618"}
