Students eagerly chose their favorite colors, comparing with one another and proudly putting them on right away. It may seem like a small addition to a classroom, but to our students, these headphones have made a big impact. They immediately noticed how well they worked, commenting on how clear the sound was and how much easier it was to hear their lessons and activities.\r\n\r\nIn today's classroom, technology plays an important role in daily learning. Our students regularly use their Chromebooks for reading programs, math activities, educational videos, and interactive lessons that help reinforce important skills. Before having these headphones, it could sometimes be challenging for students to focus, especially when multiple devices were playing at once. Now, with their own set of headphones, each child can fully engage with their learning without distractions. This has created a calmer, more productive classroom environment where students are able to concentrate and do their best work.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also helped students build independence. They are able to log in, put on their headphones, and begin their assignments with confidence. This sense of ownership over their learning is so important at the first-grade level. Students feel proud of themselves for being able to manage their materials and complete tasks on their own. It has also allowed me to spend more time working with small groups and providing individualized support, knowing that the rest of the class is engaged and on task.\r\n\r\nAnother important benefit has been the impact on listening skills. Clear audio allows students to better understand directions, stories, and instructions, which supports both their academic growth and their confidence. Whether they are listening to a book, practicing phonics, or working through a math lesson, they are able to hear every detail, helping them build strong foundational skills. This is especially important for young learners who are still developing their reading and comprehension abilities.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these headphones have made learning more enjoyable. Students are excited to use them each day, and that excitement translates into greater motivation and participation. When students are happy and engaged, they are more open to learning and trying new things. It has been wonderful to see how something as simple as a new set of headphones can bring so much joy and positively impact our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for this generous support. These headphones are not just a classroom tool—they are helping our students grow as learners, build confidence, and develop important skills that will support them for years to come. Thank you for making a meaningful difference in our classroom and in the lives of our students.","fullyFundedDate":1774809864109,"projectUrl":"project/they-can-hear-now/10159634/","projectTitle":"They Can Hear Now!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pike","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10416300"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_104876","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":368,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":78.4,"schoolId":104876,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Samuel Adams Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Samuel Adams Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/cassopolis-public-school-district/samuel-adams-elementary-school/104876"}
