Each morning, my students rushed in to check the temperature and humidity, candle the eggs, and write down what they noticed in their observation journals. When the first chick started pecking through its shell, the whole class cheered it on — it was one of those magical moments I'll never forget as a teacher.\r\n\r\nThe excitement was instant! When I brought out the incubator, their eyes lit up, and the questions started flying. They couldn't believe we'd actually get to hatch real chicks right in our classroom. Some of them even named the eggs before we got started! It was amazing to see how much care and responsibility they showed throughout the whole process.\r\n\r\nAfter the chicks hatched, students took turns feeding them, refilling their water, and keeping them warm in the brooder. We tied the project into our lessons on life cycles and animal needs, and students created journals, graphs and data charts to share what they learned. This project truly brought science to life in our classroom, and I'm so grateful for your support in making it happen. My students learned so much and were so proud of what they accomplished!","fullyFundedDate":1740675705520,"projectUrl":"project/lets-get-hatching/9095194/","projectTitle":"Let's Get Hatching","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Haslerig","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7919295_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1626882827546","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7919295"},{"teacherId":7919295,"projectId":6542107,"letterContent":"Donating classroom essentials plays a crucial role in enhancing student learning and easing teacher stress. When students have access to the right materials—whether it's books, art supplies, or educational tools—they are better equipped to engage in meaningful lessons and hands-on activities. These resources provide a more enriched, interactive learning experience, helping students explore concepts more deeply and develop essential skills. Classroom essentials also enable teachers to implement creative and varied teaching strategies that can cater to different learning styles.\r\n\r\nFor teachers, donations alleviate the stress of having to stretch tight budgets or fund essential supplies out of pocket. It allows teachers to focus on what matters most: teaching and nurturing their students. By easing the financial burden, donations give teachers the freedom to be more creative, plan more effective lessons, and ultimately provide a more supportive learning environment. Your generosity has a direct and positive impact on both the students and the teacher, creating a more productive and enjoyable classroom experience for all.","fullyFundedDate":1661014080217,"projectUrl":"project/jumpstart-on-a-new-year/6542107/","projectTitle":"Jumpstart on a New Year","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Haslerig","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7919295_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1626882827546","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7919295"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_103550","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":606,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":98,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.2,"schoolId":103550,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Madison - Carver Academy on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Madison - Carver Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/cornerstone-education-group/madison-carver-academy/103550"}
