Because of your kindness and generosity, our learning environment has been able to become a more structured and calming space where our students can grow their independence with confidence. \r\n\r\nWith the room dividers, visual schedules, clipboards, velcro, and timers you provided, we have been able to implement a structured teaching system with clearly defined stations throughout our classroom. These structured spaces help our students understand expectations, follow routines more independently, and transition with less anxiety. The visual boundaries have given our learners a sense of predictability, which has made our daily activities smoother and more accessible.\r\n\r\nOur new calming corner has become a favorite space for students who need to reset and regulate their emotions. This space offers safe, supportive ways for students to meet their sensory needs so they can return to learning more focused and ready to engage. The fidgets and crash pad you provided have been integral to this. This space has already helped many students build self-regulation strategies that will support them far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe life skills tools, including the busy board, shoe-tying board, adapted scissors, and other fine-motor materials, have given our students meaningful opportunities to practice skills essential for everyday independence. We've seen improvements in our student's fine motor skills. One of our students has learned to tie their own shoes, many students have learned to zip up their own coats, and several are able to use buckles effectively. The tools you provided made this possible. \r\n\r\nBecause of you, our classroom is now a more supportive, engaging, and inclusive place where every child can thrive at their own pace. We are deeply grateful for your investment in our students' growth. \r\n\r\nThank you again for making such a powerful difference in our learning community.","fullyFundedDate":1757328442761,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-independence-in-young-learner/9340377/","projectTitle":"Supporting Independence in Young Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Clark","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9061580_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y656&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1690817256688","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9061580"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68540","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":562,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":42,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"18.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":68540,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dwight Rich School of the Arts on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Dwight Rich School of the Arts","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/lansing-school-district/pleasant-view-magnet-elementary-school/68540"}
