We gathered all the children in a circle around the parachute and introduced the game popcorn. We put several soft balls on top of the parachute, and as the children worked together to move the balls up and down like popcorn. The smiles and laughs where priceless. \r\n The days the equipment arrived was exciting to the children. As we carried the boxes and pushed them to the classroom the children was running to the carpet to help me open boxes with excitement. We opened up the riding scooters the children jumped up and down screaming \"let's ride\" and \"can we ride\". Then we opened jump ropes, balls and hula hoops all you can hear is \"wow you see\" and \"look friends\". When the parachutes came out you hear \"can we play with it now\", \"Its lots colors\" and \"Is it a rainbow \".\r\n We're currently building on the success of our outdoor gross motor area by adding it to the lesson plan this month of October. Students will learn about different sports and activities we will do with the new items from the outdoor gross motor area. We will plan to do different obstacle courses with the materials. Parachute science will be an activity where you can make the balls roll around the edge without falling off. We can also do how many children does it take to lift the parachute high enough for one child to run underneath. Movement and Literacy we will use the exercise dice to read the pictures and tell the other children to follow the move and see how many times to do the move.","fullyFundedDate":1754074148236,"projectUrl":"project/refreshing-outdoor-gross-motor-area/9516291/","projectTitle":"Refreshing Outdoor Gross Motor Area","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lewis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10100714_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753885891257","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10100714"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_122030","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":87,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":93,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":122030,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Antioch Learning Center - Head Start on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Antioch Learning Center - Head Start","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/office-of-head-start/antioch-learning-center-head-start/122030"}
