We are just getting started, but the students are having a blast. The students started out by lasering out some earrings or button sized images to place magnets on the back of. \r\n\r\nWe are now working on editing and prepping images and pictures to etch into wood. Some have been better than others, but we are making progress. The students are also working on logos, such as our school robotics logo. We etched that into both wood and acrylic. The students are thinking that they could make Christmas orders out of acrylic of their favorite school activity or it's logo.\r\n\r\nWe will continue building into bigger and more complicated projects as the semester moves on. Thank you for helping us purchase material for use in these projects.","fullyFundedDate":1754932570961,"projectUrl":"project/lasering-our-way-to-success/9480780/","projectTitle":"Lasering Our Way To Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. McFarren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9904559_orig.jpg?crop=942,942,x176,y292&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739296271321","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9904559"},{"teacherId":9904559,"projectId":9074907,"letterContent":"Thank you again for your generosity and support. We have already been able to use the new printer for a STEM class project, a robotics team project and a community member project. \r\n\r\nThe robotics team used CAD to design and print out some drawer slides for a community member who had a couple of broken slides. The students used the broken slides as a guide and created a CAD file to match the broken part. They then printed out the parts in the new PETG filament for more durability than the PLA in our older printers. \r\n\r\nWe've had a couple of students in the STEM class use the new 3D printer to print tall, 8-10\" tall, rocket bodies for our Bullseye Projectile project. They would not have been able to make them that tall without the new printer. The rockets they created fly extremely well.\r\n\r\nThe robotics team has used the new printer to print some whiteboard shelf brackets in PETG to create a shelf to display the different 3D printed designs we have created and used on our robot for the past three years. The new 3D printer and filament types have allowed us to improve our printing projects and we look forward to seeing what we can design and print in the years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1739758678029,"projectUrl":"project/stepping-up-our-3d-printing-for-better-r/9074907/","projectTitle":"Stepping Up Our 3D Printing for Better Robots!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. McFarren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9904559_orig.jpg?crop=942,942,x176,y292&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739296271321","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9904559"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_71562","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":317,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"21.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":81.0,"schoolId":71562,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ravenna High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Ravenna High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/ravenna-public-school-district/ravenna-high-school/71562"}
