They were genuinely excited—not just about using something new, but about the possibilities these boards created. The size of the whiteboards has made a big difference. Rather than working in isolation, students naturally gather around the boards to share ideas, sketch out thoughts, and build on each other's thinking. It's been incredible to witness the shift from quiet, individual work to vibrant, collaborative brainstorming sessions. The boards have turned our classroom into a space where students feel empowered to take chances, erase mistakes, and revise their thinking together.\r\n\r\nStudents participate in a See-Think-Wonder activity where they analyze historical artifacts. They jot down their observations (what they see), interpretations (what they think it means), and lingering questions (what they wonder). The whiteboards make it easy for each group to lay out their thinking visually and publicly, which has led to rich classroom conversations. What's been most exciting is watching students take the questions they generate and dive into inquiry-based research to find answers. The boards have become more than just tools—they're platforms for student-driven exploration, curiosity, and academic risk-taking.","fullyFundedDate":1746576090365,"projectUrl":"project/write-wipe-wonder-fueling-fearless-le/9250652/","projectTitle":"Write, Wipe, Wonder: Fueling Fearless Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Halliwill","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6738294_orig.jpg?crop=1772,1772,x171,y514&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744240705198","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6738294"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68954","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":519,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":90,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"22.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":68954,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shepherd High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Shepherd High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/shepherd-public-school-district/shepherd-high-school/68954"}
