We are putting them to good use almost every day. As soon as I knew the project had been funded, I let the students know that friends, and strangers, had spent their own money to get us new mallets. The students were very impressed and were so excited when the mallets arrived. This meant using mallets that were designed for the instruments, and that students had matching mallets at their instruments. \r\n\r\nAs the students have enjoyed using the instruments and mallets, I had occasion to speak with one of the kind people who contributed to the project. The individual was so pleased and excited to make the gift to our students. When I shared this moment with the students, they were very quiet as they listened and then were so grateful that an adult was excited to give them a gift. I found the conversation with the donor, and the student reaction to be very humbling. We are indeed very lucky to have such kind people helping us out. \r\n\r\nThis gift will help the students for many years to come. I am sure there will be other requests to meet student needs in the future.
