It has truly impacted every day of school for the better. I wish you could have seen their faces as they wheeled the boxes into the room. I had many students screaming and jumping out of their chairs. I even had one so excited that he rolled on the floor. \r\n\r\nThe most used items in the donation were the coats, hats, and mittens. They have all been distributed to students who need them and did not have them before. Minnesota winter recess is no joke haha. The kids were so excited to get these items. I was even able to give a spare to one of my students 5 year old siblings as they did not have a hat as well. She still comes up to me in the morning to show me her beautiful hat. \r\n\r\nEvery other item has been used and well loved. The football has brought us so much joy, the recess bag is the perfect size to carry all the goodies outside with us. The headphones help my students complete math programs online. The headphones are especially helpful for my students who are not able to read yet. It makes the technology accessible for them so they do not feel left out from their peers. \r\n\r\nThe snacks I would love to give a specific thank you for. At the school I work at 92% of students qualify for free and reduced lunch. They often come to school hungry and are not able to focus as well because they need food. The food that you donated was a saving grace. I am able to have snacks on hand for students who need that pick me up. To be able to have the students feel happy, healthy, and comfortable in school is all that I hope for. Thank you for helping me do this for them.","fullyFundedDate":1763498235336,"projectUrl":"project/a-coat-a-day-keeps-the-shivers-away/9882126/","projectTitle":"A Coat a Day Keeps the Shivers Away!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gurno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10345471"},{"teacherId":10233975,"projectId":9666651,"letterContent":"I wanted to share a little glimpse of what your generosity has done in our classroom. It was such a pure, joyful moment.\r\n\r\nDuring lessons or even when we're watching videos, they point at the colors on the screen and then point back to their square — proud, excited, and so connected to their new space. It has become more than just a rug; it's where they feel grounded and ready.\r\n\r\nHaving these individual squares has helped us find a calmer rhythm during SEL circles and morning meetings. Transitions feel smoother, and everyone knows exactly where they belong. It has added structure, comfort, and a sense of \"this is my place\" for each child.\r\n\r\nOur next step is building longer sharing routines and more connected circle times, and this carpet is helping us get there. Students really loved and connected with this story.\r\n\r\nStudents are so excited to read these books! Now thanks to your donation, we will have some of these books for students.\r\n\r\nStudents are so excited to read these books! A lot of these picture books are appealing to my older students to in 3rd-5th grade. We've been playing songs together and reviewing colors, letters, and big vs little sizing concepts along the way. Students love the resonator bells and get very excited whenever I bring them out in class. \r\n\r\nWe've played several nursery rhyme classics such as \"Old McDonald\" and \"Mary Had a Little Lamb.\" Even my preschoolers have started learning when to take their turns. I've also only handed out certain combinations of the bells to create different musical soundscapes. Pentatonic improvisation has been really regulating. For my slightly older students, we've been using them as another option instead of boomwhackers to play songs with play-along videos. \r\n\r\nThe bells have also worked wonderfully for practicing impulse control, turn-taking, and sharing materials. Students have at times traded for a different color, or waited for a different song that used the color they wanted to play. Students have also practiced instrument care and have demonstrated they value the bells as part of our classroom materials. We're looking forward to more bell activities in years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1733176249365,"projectUrl":"project/learning-that-resonates-using-resonator/8860296/","projectTitle":"Learning That Resonates: Using Resonator Bells in Preschool and Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kaiti","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8693724_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673330767764","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kaiti-shelton-music"},{"teacherId":9294339,"projectId":9144245,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping me get these books for students! Our scholars have loved playing the phonics games as part of our small group rotations and with the volunteers that frequently come to our room. They were so excited to unbox each game and give each one a try.\r\n\r\nThe clip-on game has lead to a lot of collaboration and excitement as scholars work together to solve the \"puzzle\" of each word. Scholars are also supporting other scholars learning by helping each other read the words in the Spash games. Having different versions of this game has allowed me to better differentiate and tailor instruction to each students level. Scholars also love how similar some of the games are to other games they know, like UNO.\r\n\r\nAs a result of your donation, scholars are showing improvement in reading CVC words and reading words with digraphs. My higher students are getting faster and faster at spelling out words with more complex vowel teams.
