This school year, I redesigned many of my assignments to focus the writing on the students themselves.\r\n\r\nAn important part of these assignments is that they build from one writing session to the next. One of the challenges of this approach is getting students to keep all of their writing assignments. As small as that seems, it creates a real obstacle in helping them review the writing they have already completed and build on top of that work. The folders that were provided help students keep all of their writing in an organized and accessible place. It really makes a difference. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, the soft lighting provided by lamps (rather than the harsh overhead fluorescent lights) helps my students be more comfortable as they tackle these personal writing assignments.\r\n\r\nThese small additions to our classroom make a big difference.","fullyFundedDate":1732811186384,"projectUrl":"project/building-writing-connections/8680736/","projectTitle":"Building Writing Connections","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hutter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9692340"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_77318","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":208,"numTeachers":14,"percentFrplEligible":60,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":62.5,"schoolId":77318,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Marionville High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Marionville High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/marionville-school-district-r9/marionville-senior-high-school/77318"}
