They are able wiggle and move, calm themselves and increase their focus with daily tasks. These stools are used every day during one on one instruction and small group assignments. Students are free to move as they sit to play with playdough, read books, work on assignments and listen to instruction.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a student who typically struggles to stay seated choose a wobble stool and remain engaged during an entire lesson for the first time.\r\n\r\nThe ability to move while learning has helped many of my students improve their focus, reduce frustration, and stay on task longer. I've noticed fewer disruptions and more confidence as students take ownership of their learning environment.\r\nYour support has truly transformed our classroom into a more inclusive and successful learning space.","fullyFundedDate":1754324863223,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-in-a-special-education/9444804/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating in a Special Education Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Arens","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9592391_orig.jpg?crop=1250,1250,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728223618954","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9592391"},{"teacherId":10051875,"projectId":9401824,"letterContent":"I would like to sincerely thank those who generously donated to my classroom project. My students loved having so many options for tooth brushes and getting to brush their teeth at school. A few of my students ask to brush their teeth multiple times a day. They also love having deodorant and getting to \"smell clean\" (their words). These tooth brushes, deodorant, hair ties, and vaseline for chapped lips have impacted the way they feel about themselves. When a student feels better about themself, they are able to focus more at school. \r\n\r\nI can't wait to continue using these self-care items for the next few years and continue making an impact on how many feel about themselves.","fullyFundedDate":1747849470559,"projectUrl":"project/life-skills-assistance/9353167/","projectTitle":"Life Skills Assistance","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Darrow","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10034779"},{"teacherId":9592391,"projectId":8862035,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom with the A Little SPOT social-emotional book series! Your donation has made a meaningful difference in our daily learning. These books introduced my students to important emotional concepts like empathy, kindness, anger, anxiety, and responsibility in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. Each story led to classroom discussions where students were able to connect the emotions in the books to their own lives, at school, at home, and in the community.\r\n\r\nReading time became a highlight of our day. My students were especially excited to meet each new \"Little SPOT\" character and pass around the coordinating plush figures. These hands-on visuals helped them identify and name their feelings in a safe and fun way. One student who struggled with frustration started using the \"Anger SPOT\" strategy to calm down, and another often referred to the \"Kindness SPOT\" when helping a friend.
