We learned how to take focused notes in a hands-on, memorable way. Students watched a video on how to fold an origami frog and had to rely on their notes to complete the project.\r\n\r\nAs they worked, they quickly discovered what happens when details are missed—they had to go back, clarify, and add to their notes. They also realized which parts of their notes were most important, which led them to naturally ask great questions. This activity gave them the chance to practice 4 of the 5 phases of focused note-taking in a meaningful and fun context.\r\n\r\nWe wrapped up the week with a frog-jumping track and field event, which brought smiles, laughter, and a real sense of accomplishment.
