I was able to paint my classroom with whiteboard paint, place tack strips and borders. It looks fantastic! I am very excited for my students to return in a couple of weeks and see how much they enjoy the new work spaces!\r\n\r\nMy students have enjoyed going up to the previous poster white boards that I had to tape up each time we used them. It is so nice to have these permanent places for the kids instead. Students show their work and then we gallery walk around as a class. They get to explain their work and thought process - gaining confidence in their math and presentation skills. They enjoy getting instant feedback and collaborating with other students. Being able to complete problems at the board to lessen the work they will need to do outside of class is a bonus also! \r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I do spend well over a thousand dollars per year on supplies for my class. Due to your generous contribution, 70 juniors and seniors at BCHS were able to read the original novel, A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. Due to its widespread popularity, most students are familiar with aspects of this story, although none had read the original text before. In tandem with their reading, students learned about the historical and social context of the novel, particularly as it pertains to the extreme poverty and horrific living conditions of many in London during the Industrial Revolution. \r\nStudents completed writing assignments analyzing the challenges of our time, while comparing themes from 180 years ago to the present. Students analyzed the themes of family, redemption, poverty, and charity, while examining the experiences in their own lives that have shaped them into the people they are now. This beloved little tale is a wonderful invitation for young people to consider the role they wish to play in society, and in the lives of those they care about, urging conscientious citizenship, kindness, and sense that their actions matter. \r\n\r\nThis unit of study has been enjoyable and meaningful for my students and for me, and I appreciate you making it possible!","fullyFundedDate":1727102554731,"projectUrl":"project/a-christmas-carol-teaching-service-and/8801460/","projectTitle":"A Christmas Carol - Teaching Service and Compassion","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Currey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9760208"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78281","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":336,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":86,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":null,"schoolId":78281,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Beaverhead County High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Beaverhead County High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/beaverhead-county-high-school-district/beaverhead-co-high-school/78281"}
