The funding from your donation gave me the ability to purchase many great hands on material to make the reading lessons and content I was teaching more engaging and meaningful for our First Grade students. This material was utilized this year by two first grade classroom that we have in my school, but will continue to be used with first graders in the years to come.\r\n I now have a model of the solar system, models of each planet, lab coats, a skeleton model, digestive system model, and a rock and mineral set just to name few things that I purchased.\r\n\r\nWhen I taught the reading lesson on the human body in the past, my class used to just have to listen to me read aloud the information while just looking at pictures in a book. Now with the new resources I purchased, my students get to feel like real doctors and surgeons. They get to wear lab coats when they study hands on models of the skeleton, and body organs and can manipulate these tools. My students were thrilled with these new additions and their interest was hooked. As a result of their full engage and motivation to learn the content they all tested high at the end of the unit.\r\n\r\nAnother unit that I purchased hands on models for, was our astronomy unit the students got to see an large hands size blow up model of each of the planets as we learned about them. I also purchase a 3-D model of the solar system. These resource really helped the students understand the content more and it is not a surprise that after using these resources that again my students did a fantastic job on their assessments of this content they were learning. \r\n\r\nAs you can see your donations has not only benefited my students, but also their instructor by allowing me to fully engage my learners and make the content meaningful to them. I have had so much more fun teaching these lesson now! So again thank you for the support you have given this classroom teacher.","fullyFundedDate":1727838782287,"projectUrl":"project/reading-exploration-see-it-do-it-hav/8841269/","projectTitle":"Reading Exploration See It, Do It, Having Fun Through It","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Loch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7707839"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39693","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":262,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":69,"percentIndigenous":6,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"10.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":86.7,"schoolId":39693,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Chief Joseph Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Chief Joseph Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/great-falls-school-district-1a/chief-joseph-elementary-school/39693"}
