Through activities such as using tweezers and tongs to pick up small objects, and manipulating playdough, our students have been able to target important skills that will benefit future writing ability, in a way that is fun and catches thier interest. \r\nIn addition to working on fine motor skills, the manipulatives have also been used to work on oral story telling through imaginative play. My students loved the fairy forrest kit and enjoyed telling stories about thier fairies as they used the manipulatives to build houses for the fairies. \r\nYour contribution has not only provided tangible resources but has also opened doors for our students to explore, learn, and grow in a way that is fun and developmentally appropriate. With these materials, students are able to SEE the math concepts and really comprehend concepts and vocabulary that may be out of their English ability. From volume, area, and perimeter, to geometry and measurement, we have been able to use the materials for so many math lessons.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes first arrived, students couldn't wait to use the materials. Even now, months later, students love spending any chance they can creating with the blocks, magnets, and straw sets.
