Your gift has brought so much excitement, responsibility, and joy to our students. They love having classroom jobs, earning money, and being able to spend or save for items they truly want. Many students have already started saving for bigger goals, like soccer balls and even axolotls. Their excitement when they add up all of their money earned that week and how much they have in their savings is contagious!\r\n\r\nThe classroom jobs you've helped make possible—from floor monitor and desk wiper to star student and kindness captain—have given students a new sense of pride and responsibility. I'm especially thrilled with how well the kindness captain role has worked—students are actively noticing and celebrating kindness in their peers, and they take their jobs seriously! I've also been able to reward students with bonuses for going above and beyond, which has motivated them even more.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our students are not only learning about money, saving, and responsibility, but they are also building confidence, teamwork, and pride in our classroom community. Your support is helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally—and they are thriving because of you!","fullyFundedDate":1765202543310,"projectUrl":"project/brains-bucks-and-bright-futures/9927479/","projectTitle":"Brains, Bucks, and Bright Futures!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Coffin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9494055_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724465811269","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9494055"},{"teacherId":10379440,"projectId":9954184,"letterContent":"My students had the best day celebrating becoming published authors because of you! They were so happy to have been introduced to an actual local author. Some of my students continue to ask questions about you. One student wrote in their journal that that was the best day of their life because they were able to have fun with their friends, eat cool snacks, and meet an author. \r\nWhen I asked my students to help me set up the snacks on the table for our party, their faces were priceless. One student said, \"Is this all for us?\". After the celebration, the students were very thankful of everything that had taken place. I heard a lot of, \"Thank you so much for the fun time!\" \"Thank you for the writing celebration!\". I have had more students come up and ask to buy their classroom book now, too. My students' eyes widened when they saw me opening the boxes of new items! We put out the rugs together, and they were so excited to sit and lay on the them as they work. One student said, \"This is the softest thing I've ever felt!\" Another said, \"This looks too nice to walk on.\" I told them we were lucky to receive these items but yes, they are here for them to use! The day we unboxed the three grey floor chairs together, I heard comments of, \"Those are awesome!\", \"Can I use it first?\" and \"Are we keeping these?\" To say my students were happy would be an understatement. We might have to create a weekly schedule so everyone has the opportunity to use the popular chairs now. I should have ordered more! \r\nMy students also love to sit in the office chairs while working independently at the table or playing games during indoor recess. I can tell they try not to race to be the first one to use them. I allow them to choose where they work at different times throughout the day, and having these options has definitely made their school day more positive and enjoyable. \r\nMy new current project on Donors Choose is called Fun and Friendship for 5th Graders if you are interested in helping my students have more board games, arts and crafts, and sensory friendly items during times of indoor recess and earned free time in the classroom. What makes it harder, is not knowing how to properly identify emotions, process them, and understand the appropriate coping strategies to help us work through and process these emotions. Little humans know how to feel, but require the additional support to work through these given steps. Your generosity helped provide kid appropriate reading material and additional resources for my students both through individual and small group counseling.\r\n\r\nThe reading material helped students put a name to emotions they have been experiencing. For my 61 fifth graders, we currently have less than a handful of items for them to take out to play with. When my students saw me airing up the new balls for recess, their faces were priceless. Some of my students live and breathe soccer so when I told them I had brand new soccer balls they could play with, they started cheering in the classroom. When a group of girls saw the new volleyballs, they began to high five and hug one another to share their joy. I have a small group of boys who only ever talk about basketball and play it everyday at recess. They even asked me to join them in their game on the first use of our new basketballs. \r\nAs you can see in the photos I shared in the thank you package, you are helping my students create fun and positive memories with their classmates during their free time. We do not even have a net outside, yet the students were pretending like they were playing in a real volleyball game. I watched them laugh and smile as they were being silly and dropping the ball. I heard phrases like \"good try\", \"great job\", \"oh that's okay, you tried\", encouraging one another. I also observed a huge group of students out on the field playing with the soccer ball. I overheard a student say to a classmate, \"Make sure we don't lose it, Mrs. Trahan just got that for us!\" I hope you know that you have made a tremendous impact on my students that are now able to social and physical outside at recess! Your kindness made it possible for my students and I to not only design our very own class shirts, but to come together in a special way throughout the process.\r\nCreating these shirts became more than just an art project—it was a powerful learning experience. As we worked together on the design, my students learned valuable lessons in collaboration, compromise, and creativity. Some wanted to proudly display our school mascot, the jaguar, while others hoped for something that would make our class stand out. After lots of discussion, they decided on a unique and meaningful phrase for the front: \"I am the future of the world.\" On the back, they included a jaguar face—honoring both their individuality and school spirit. The compromise made them all proud.\r\nThis project also tied beautifully into our social studies lessons on citizenship and community. I often remind my students that they are the future leaders of our world—that they have the power to make a difference. These shirts now represent that belief.\r\nEven in math, we were able to incorporate this experience by thinking critically about size constraints, material limitations, and making smart design choices. It became a well-rounded, cross-curricular project that my students will remember for a long time.\r\nWe are all so excited to wear our shirts on our very first field trip and show off not just what we made—but what we stand for.\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you Ripple for supporting our classroom and helping bring this idea to life.","fullyFundedDate":1746786277437,"projectUrl":"project/threads-of-pride-customizing-school-spi/9270417/","projectTitle":"Threads of Pride: Customizing School Spirit!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Coffin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9494055_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724465811269","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9494055"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79069","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":463,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":72,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":53.2,"schoolId":79069,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jefferson Elementary School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Jefferson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nebraska/omaha-public-schools/jefferson-elementary-school/79069"}
