Students in gifted classes have been enjoying programming these little computers. They are able to code rolling dice, name badges and even play paper, rock, scissors with each other. Many students are still tackling those challenges so this makes the microbits particularly suited for ongoing lessons. Students have also been realizing that the coding for the microbits is similar to other coding programs they have used online in the past. But, seeing the microbits in hand is really making programming live and real for them. The CVC Word Building Cards and Pointers are part of our ELA small-group centers and use them to point to their work and build new words regularly. \r\n The Magnetic Building Crafts were great in our winter unit when students were challenged with building habits for Arctic animals. The Marble Run has been a great way to introduce engineering and physics alongside social skills and preserving. \r\n Your generosity has given tools that invite my students to think critically, collaborate and learn while loving it every single day!
