Students earn tickets when they complete assignments, stay on task, demonstrate positive behavior, and follow class expectations. Once a student earns 20 tickets, they are able to \"shop\" in our classroom store and choose from the snacks that were donated.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snacks and learned how the system worked, they were incredibly excited. Their eyes lit up as they realized they could work toward earning something tangible. Almost immediately, I noticed students reminding each other to stay focused so they could earn tickets. One special moment that stood out was watching students quietly finish their work and proudly count their tickets, carefully saving them until they reached 20. The sense of accomplishment they felt when they were able to buy a snack was priceless.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom has become noticeably quieter, more organized, and more focused. Students are making better choices, completing assignments more consistently, and encouraging one another to follow expectations. The reward system has helped create a positive and structured learning environment where responsibility is celebrated. As we move forward, we will continue using this incentive system to support academic goals and positive behavior. We are also connecting ticket rewards to larger projects and group work, encouraging teamwork and long-term goal setting. They had no idea what was in the packet as for at the values go, they were able to discuss the differences in the snack and talk about which one was heathier than the others. They also wrote down the value for their snack and some notice right away that some of the snack had 0 fats in them and some were loaded with fat. I heard conversations where they stated, \"wow\" I didn't know this snack had so much salt in it.\r\n\r\nStudents learned the different names of the nutrients as well. They had to define them to get a better understanding. I asked them to notice the items label in their cabinets at home as well. I have not opened their eyes to looking at the nutritional value of their snacks and making good choices when choosing a snack.\r\n\r\nThanks for helping me bring the smiles of learning students to new discoveries, no matter how big or small. Having access to pencils, tissues, and water also means students don't have to interrupt learning to meet basic needs; they can stay present and focused, which has made our classroom feel calmer and more supportive overall.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were immediate and genuine—lots of smiles, excitement, and comments like, \"This makes our class feel cozy,\" and \"This helps me focus.\" They felt seen and cared for. Students love our cozy corner and have been actively trying to earn their Good Behavior Stickers in order to get to relax in it during independent work time. They love the new stickers. I have students running to my room after school asking if they can have another reflection question so they can earn another sticker.\r\n\r\nIt is so nice having enough pencils for my students. The class runs smoother when we aren't struggling to get everyone supplies. Having consistent access to paper has made writing feel more official and meaningful to them—it's no longer just an assignment, but something they own.\r\n\r\nStudents were genuinely excited when they saw the cases of paper arrive because they knew it meant more opportunities to create. They quickly connected it to our upcoming Utopia Project, where they are designing their own \"perfect societies\" and explaining the rules, values, and systems that would make them work. We are now using the paper to print color posters, planning pages, and final drafts so students can visually present their ideas in a way that matches their creativity. Many students who are usually quiet in class have become more engaged because they can express themselves through both writing and design.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue building their Utopia projects by drafting, revising, and presenting their societies using journals and colorful displays. They will analyze how rules shape communities and connect this to our essential question about how challenges shape the future. The many resources you have provided us are allowing us to educate our parents and families in a fun and unique way without overwhelming them or making them feel like they are back in school.\r\n\r\nIn order to assess the success of this program, we do have to have some \"school\" type of assessment, and ironically, the parents actually want a \"test\" because they have asked, \"can you tell me...is this A?\" It is wonderful to see such a desire to want to learn and want to learn more.
