Being able to have quick access to supplies geared towards assisting in there ability to cope with stress and anxiety is huge. The immediate relief I have been able to provide them is immeasurable. The supplies I was able to get for my office also assist me in helping teens who have a difficult time not only regulating but expressing emotion has been helpful as well. being able to use the fish light provides a calming atmosphere and a good date conversation starter, and the posters and emotional learning games provide opportunity for me to help students who don't want to talk be able to point or identify how they are feeling, or provide a very organic way to unload there feeling without feeling questioned or worried. \r\n\r\nMy students truly have learned with these supplies to advocate for themselves as well. Ill have some regular students come and ask for another fidget if they have forgotten theirs because they can acknowledge and see the benefits it is creating within them. Emotional regulation is extremely rare in this generation. These materials have provided me an amazing opportunity to start the life long learning process on how to manage themselves in environments that they have less control.
