Because of your support, our classroom has undergone a vibrant transformation. The arrival of the markers, colored pens, and colored paper has turned our daily note-taking and brainstorming sessions from a sea of standard pencil-grey into a technicolor display of student creativity. My students are currently convinced they are the next Picassos of prose, and having the posterboard on hand means their projects finally have the physical space to match the scale of their imaginations.\r\n\r\nBeyond the \"pop\" of color, the atmosphere of our room has shifted entirely thanks to the literary and decorative posters. Our walls have officially graduated from \"institutional beige\" to a curated gallery that celebrates both a love of reading and a welcoming, aesthetic environment. On a more practical—but equally vital—note, the new scanner has been an absolute game-changer. It allows us to digitize student work instantly, fostering a more collaborative environment where we can share and celebrate their progress in real-time.","fullyFundedDate":1768840557261,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-consumables/9994214/","projectTitle":"Classroom Consumables","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lamb","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8114634"},{"teacherId":8070596,"projectId":10022979,"letterContent":"I wanted to express appreciation for the computer that will be used by the Silverado Robotics Club. As CAD design programs have increased in complexity having a newer computer will help with the speed of the program running and make designing the robot easier. In addition, earlier this year our computer with the robot's code died during competition and we were not able to update the code, especially the autonomous section of the game during the competition. During a recent project, students worked in small groups to apply what they were learning using the new materials, whether that meant building, experimenting, or creating presentations. One particularly memorable moment was watching a group of students who typically struggle with engagement become completely absorbed in the activity—asking thoughtful questions, testing ideas, and even helping their peers problem-solve. When the materials were first introduced, the excitement was immediate and genuine. Students were eager to explore, and their curiosity set the tone for deeper, more meaningful learning experiences right from the start.\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to play a central role in our current lessons and upcoming projects. Students are now building on their initial experiences by taking on more complex challenges that require critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork. For example, they are beginning a new unit where they will design and present their own projects using the tools provided, applying the skills they've developed so far. This next phase will not only reinforce their understanding but also give them a sense of ownership and pride in their work. Previous students needed to use the calculators on their cell phones to complete the work, but Nevada has instituted a policy that students could not have access to their cell phones during class time. This required the cumbersome process of students logging into their chromebooks to do even the quickest of calculations.\r\n\r\nHaving access to a class set of calculators made the process smoother, and even helped save instructional time during the lessons. There were a variety of activities that the calculators proved extremely useful, to include the Solar Energy activity that is included with this letter. Other activities involved calculations of plate tectonic movements, percentages of mineral self-sufficiency, and temperature changes.\r\n\r\nAll in all, these calculators proved to be a most beneficial addition to my class room and increased student learning and understanding of Science.\r\n\r\nWalter Leberski\r\nGeoscience\r\nSilverado High School","fullyFundedDate":1768754901758,"projectUrl":"project/help-students-perform-calculations-witho/10037671/","projectTitle":"Help Students Perform Calculations Without Using Cell Phones","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Leberski","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10411213"},{"teacherId":7234704,"projectId":10005531,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my project!
