The students I serve are students with disabilities who often find traditional classroom settings stressful, exhausting, and overwhelming due to the fast pace and rigid structure of general education classrooms. Because of your support, my classroom now offers an alternative environment where students do not have to sit at traditional desks, but instead can choose a comfortable chair or couch where they feel more at ease and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThis seating has made a meaningful difference for my students. Many of them struggle with social challenges, mental health concerns, and a persistent feeling that school is not a place where they truly belong. Other classrooms can feel cold and overly structured, which makes it difficult for these students to relax and be themselves. In my room, students are able to decompress, feel less stressed, and focus not only on academics but also on their mental health. The flexible seating has helped create a space that feels welcoming, calming, and safe.\r\n\r\nThe impact has already been incredible. Students often tell me that my classroom feels relaxing and inviting, and they have proudly laid claim to the furniture as \"their own.\" Knowing they have a place—even for just an hour or two a day—where they can recharge, feel accepted, and then continue their school day has been truly powerful. Thank you for helping me create a space where students feel they belong and can take a moment in their day to simply be themselves.","fullyFundedDate":1762193433650,"projectUrl":"project/calm-and-inviting-classroom/9619193/","projectTitle":"Calm and Inviting Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Saddoris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8138133"},{"teacherId":9518834,"projectId":8691409,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the love and support you have brought to our school. With all of your help, students were able to take home supplies that their families could not afford. When I received all of your donations, the timing could not have been more perfect. It was coming close to our school's Christmas break. Many students were able to stock up on what they needed for the two-week break. \r\nYour generous donations were also distributed throughout the school to other teachers. I was able to give each teacher who requested materials a small box filled with the supplies so that the teachers can have them on hand. Our Gym teacher was able to restock on deodorants and feminine products and I even had some teachers request toothbrushes, lotion, and dry shampoos to keep in their classrooms for the students who were too shy to approach me for help. \r\nWe all know that high school can be intimidating and comes with its fair share amount of unique pressure. Your impact will allow students to think a little less about how they look or smell and spend a little more time learning and creating new experiences with their peers.","fullyFundedDate":1730955768271,"projectUrl":"project/no-more-stinky-teenagers/8691409/","projectTitle":"No More Stinky Teenagers!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9518834"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_59844","usesÐǿմ«Ã½":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":876,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":56,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":65.0,"schoolId":59844,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Spring Creek High School on @Ðǿմ«Ã½:","schoolName":"Spring Creek High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/elko-county-school-district/spring-creek-high-school/59844"}
